Reporting complaints about charity bins that are located on public land.

Urgent requests

If a charity bin is causing a hazard, please report it to the City by calling 1300 4 CANNING (1300 422 664). This will allow an Officer to respond with the highest priority. Hazards can include:
  • charity bins blocking car parking spaces
  • charity bins blocking pedestrian access
  • charity bins causing traffic sight line issues
  • charity bins have structural defects (including vandalised doors)
  • dumped materials are blocking vehicle access ways
  • dumped materials are blocking pedestrian access.

Public land

  • The City can only respond to charity bin issues when the bin is located on public land (e.g. owned/maintained by the City).
  • If the land is not owned by the City (e.g. private car parks), please contact the charity direct.

Anonymous requests

  • This type of request cannot be anonymous.
  • Contact details are required when lodging this type of issue to ensure a proper investigation can be completed. It also provides the City with the ability to clarify information to ensure officers have a safe working environment.
  • Personal information is not disclosed to any person without consent.
